Education Can Lead TO The World You Need

Social functioning is the way in which people perform their social roles, and the structural institutions that are provided to sustain them. Social work practice is often divided into micro-work, which involves working directly with individuals or small groups; and macro-work, which involves working with communities within social policy – fostering change on a larger scale.

Once a scholar said that „the roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet“ and I came to learn this eternal truth from an early age. ‚If the darkness of ignorance is to be dispelled then the sun of education has to rise‘. So many children are born talented, have immense capacity for understanding and are naturally bright – but poverty has deprived them of an education. Millions of children around the world lack access to basic necessities, such as food, clean water, sanitation, medicine, shelter, education, books, fun, family, love – but there is hope. I have long been concerned for underprivileged children, especially those who are unable to access education due to lack of resources or poverty. On one hand, there are people who live their life lavishly. They are not only enjoying the joy of essentials but also have what they want and desire; a luxurious living providing them an extra comfort.

On the other hand, there are people who cannot even afford the basic requirements of living. They do not have shelter to live, food to eat, and clothes to wear. People who have extra are living a comfortable and a posh life. While those who have barely the vitals are fighting each day for life. They fail to meet the basic requirements. There are people who have much more than they need to live while others have barely enough to survive. Being poor means deprived economically, politically and socially. They hardly get opportunities. They have inadequate nutrition, higher risk of diseases and lack access to healthcare and basic essentials for living resulting in low achievement.

One cannot make such people’s lifestyle lavish but can at least help them achieve the essentials of life and lead a prosperous life. Helping the poor and needy people is a good deed. Caring for https://chungchinghecacloai.com/ the poor and needy people and helping them is a noble cause. The more you give to poor and needy people, the more you strengthen their dependency. If you give them the chance or opportunity, you’ll see an effective and long-lasting improvement in their lives. Tossing out money or other kinds of donation do help the poor and needy people but the need is to direct your energies and efforts in raising them, building relationship, teaching them and moreover, regaining their self-confidence and self-esteem to work for themselves.

Change your perspective. Instead of considering them as a project to help, view them as people to love and respect. No effort is too small or too large to make. You can help poor children have a better future in a number of ways:

Personal Financial Help:

Individuals can help the poor and needy people monetarily also. One can get associated with charitable houses and donate money there to help the needy. By providing monetary help to the needy people, they can get meal for their family, a place to live or some clothes.

Fund Raising:

One can join the fund raiser community or engage himself or herself with some organization & NGO like Aahwahan Foundation and other NGO who are involved in raising funds for the poor and needy people. They can join various activities and plan various strategies for fund raising like helping in creating awareness in the society through various modes, conduct various shows like road shows, etc.

Collection Drive:

By conducting collection drives for food, clothes, books, blankets and other necessities one can help the poor and needy people. These collection drives can be conducted in schools, offices or locality and reaches to the neediest people.

Group Involvement/Volunteering Teams:

Volunteering your time and efforts towards children can make a very big impact. Creating awareness among the people for helping the poor and needy people can get more and more individuals join the drive. These volunteers can help in arranging free health camps, doctors can be invited to treat the poor and needy people. Even the smallest efforts counts.

Education:

Imparting knowledge can help the poor and needy to stand on their feet. Education is the beginning of getting out from hardships of life. Giving free education by our NGO Aahwahan Foundation to the poor and needy people help them to grow as individuals and help them lead a better life. Through education, we can help the poor and needy people to develop their skills so that they can take over efforts to revitalize their life rather than always depending on the outsiders to do so for them.

Braja Kishore is founder of Aahwahan Foundation. His vision to work for life values, education and contemplative culture for society. It aims to promote better health, well-being and resilience for individuals and communities by reducing sufferings in human life. Our foundation is one of the Best NGO for Education in Bengaluru. We have around 37 kids whose educational care are taken by Aahwahan Foundation till 10th standard.

>The Science of Nudging for Energy Conservation

Nudging, as defined by Nobel laureate Richard Thaler, involves subtly influencing people’s behavior without mandating or restricting their choices. This concept is rooted in behavioral science, which recognizes that humans are not always rational decision-makers and can be influenced by biases and cognitive limitations.

A plethora of studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of nudging in promoting energy-saving actions. For instance, personalized energy reports that compare individual energy usage to that of their neighbors have been shown to significantly reduce energy consumption. This nudge leverages social comparisons and provides individuals with valuable insights into their energy usage habits. By highlighting discrepancies between one’s energy consumption and the norm, individuals are encouraged to modify their behavior and strive for energy efficiency.

Another successful nudging technique for energy conservation is social norm nudges. By informing individuals about the energy-saving behaviors of others, it triggers a sense of social responsibility and encourages individuals to align their behavior with the perceived social norm. This approach capitalizes on the inherently social nature of humans and leverages the power of influence within communities.

Through the application of nudging techniques grounded in behavioral science, individuals, organizations, and policymakers can effectively promote energy conservation and contribute to a sustainable future.
